   An altanta starup named AirSage invented a creative way to collect real-time road traffic information. I looked into their website and have a rough recognization on their technology. they assume most drivers have cell phones and the phones are open (I agree the hypotheses). then they collect the cell phone signal and filter the user privacy data. after processing the signal data in AirSage's system, the raw data can be converted into traffic information via their patented algorithms and provide to government agencies. 

   It's really amazing, though they are not the first organization coming up this idea. Using cell phone signal as detecting sensor, I never head my idea to this way. thank Airsage, you open another door for me! actually, when I walked on the street some days ago, I have been thinking about how to turn current stupid traffic light into more intelligent light. I have mulled over a rough idea: placing some sensitive chemical sensors in the suitable positions of the road and detecting the concentration of the car emissions; then, the traffic should be measured. furthermore, the data can be derived for the input of next traffic light. therefore, the traffic light will be intelligent to switch light accoring to the real traffic status not only depending on the set switch time. 

   Now, AirSage's technology seems to work better than my idea. when the converted data are imported into the traffic light control software, the traffic light will not be stupid any more. pedestrians and automotives will not waste much time when traffic is not busy at all. of course, the application field of AirSage technology is far more than this. in a word, I like this technology.
