Globalizer

 Don't misunderstand, I am not sharing my afterthoughts on Milan Kundera's fiction. I just borrow his book's title to metaphorize an interesting business trend: business chance lies in "life is elsewhere".

 I think human being is the core of all the business activities. around human, all kinds of business behavior come up, furtherly formed our familiar industries like chemical industry, electronic industry, fast-consuming industry etc. in my opinion, individual's life are mainly consisted of daily life and working/study life. please look at the green circle and the red circle. but in one society, everyone has neighbors, intimate neighbors become friends. all of these social characters decide which business pattern are meaningful for human being. 

 Existed business patterns: many traditional industries belong to this category. they are only focusing on discrete points. although they know it's a cycling circle between daily life and working/study life, they ingore other points of this circle. they only satisfy human's most basic demands: living and working!

 Emerging business patterns: finally some prophets realize 2 discrete points are not the whole of human being's life. we humankind have more life styles. everyone is anticipating "life is elsewhere". therefore, smart entrepreneurs create 3 new life modes for us: virtual life, social network and 3rd place of life. recent popular game–second life is the most successful model to help human being experiece virtual life. it creates a parellel life for us. the skyblue curve in the above picture represents the business chance created by virtual life. the red and green curves represent the business chance by social network. many web applications are the typical successful models like myspace, facebook, youtube and linkedin etc. comparing to other life modes, 3rd place of life is more difficult to create. starbucks is an amazing success story. they added one point into the cycling circle of human being's life. No doubt, we are enjoying life is elsewhere created by these companies. question is are they the finalists?

 Possible emerging business patterns: when we look into the above picture, we found there are still many business chances ahead. of course, except the 3rd place occupied by starbucks, there are still 4th, 5th… places for smart people to create. but if we link one individual's real life to neighbors' virtual life or vice versa with dotted golden line, a brand new biz model is showed in front of us. is it feasible? we can discuss together!

 This article is only for exploring new business chances. already existed biz models will still bring surprizing to us. for example, emerging teches are still  improving our life quality. here, I just try to think differently, insight biz world at different angle. brainstorm is my intention.
